Both the Honor 8X and Vivo V11 has impressive screen-to-body ratios. The Vivo V11 with the smaller halo notch has 91.27 percent while the Honor 8X has 91 percent. Vivo has the slight edge.

But, the Honor 8X has the bigger 6.5-inch panel compared with the 6.41-inch screen of the V11. It also the slightly smaller 4.2 mm chin.

Having a bigger screen means you can view more. It could be more suitable for watching movies and playing games.

The Vivo V11 also has the higher-end Super AMOLED panel with slightly more accurate color reproduction. It also has the higher 422 ppi versus 396 ppi of the Honor 8X.
But to our surprise, the more affordable Honor 8X was able to compete with it in terms of sharpness, viewing angles, and brightness.
Battery Life

With the battery, the Honor 8X has a bigger 3,750mAh one with 5V/2A charging tech than the V11's 3,400mAh battery.
In our test, the Honor 8X lasted for a little over 13 hours on a single charge, while the Vivo V11 lasted for almost 12 hours under the same heavy usage.
Meaning you can use the Honor 8X a bit longer for your movies, games, social media apps, photo taking, and more.

When it comes to the cameras, both have AI-assisted dual-camera setups at the back.

The Honor 8X has the bigger 20MP f/1.8 shooter paired with 2MP depth sensor with PDAF, contrast focus, Master AI, and LED flash.

Nonetheless, the Vivo V11 has the smaller 12MP f/1.8 shooter paired with a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor. But it has the speedier Dual Pixel PDAF focus and the dual-tone LED flash.

In our test, both cameras performed well. They were able to produce crisp and well-detailed images most of the time.

In my against the light shot, the Honor 8X produced more details in the sky and a slightly sharper image with deeper contrast against the V11.
Here's a shot of tall buildings with blue sky.
The AI of the Honor 8X made the color of the sky bluer, but its AI also made the color of the building on the left blue.
The color accuracy of the V11 is better.
For daylight shots, the Honor 8X got the shot with better details and punchier colors. It also has a wider dynamic range.

For lowlight, the V11 can shoot images with less noise and better details. The Honor 8X has a more saturated shot, but it has the wider dynamic range.

However, the Honor 8X has one killer feature that the Vivo V11 doesn't have, the AI-assisted night mode with up to 6 seconds handheld long exposure.
It can make the lowlight shots from the Honor 8X sharper and more detailed than the V11.

For selfies, the Honor 8X has the smaller 16MP f/2.0 shooter with AI face beauty.
The Vivo V11 has the bigger 25MP sensor with AI. Both has screen flash for selfies in lowlight.

Despite the bigger 25MP size of the V11, the 16MP of Honor 8X can go toe-to-toe with the V11. There are times when its color accuracy looks better.

Both smartphones are very good in terms of screen quality, battery life, and AI-assisted cameras.
To our surprise, the Honor 8X was able to compete or even go toe-to-toe with the Vivo V11 despite being the much more affordable handset.
Again, both are impressive devices at their respective price points.
